I am mainly researching issues linked to the circulation of images and memorialisation processes and practices.<\/p>\n<p>My three main areas of research currently are:<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/danaepanchaud.net\/index.php\/research\/truncheons-and-tea-sets\/\">presentation and representation of dissent in the museum<\/a>, in particular through material culture, and the negotiated narratives of dissent within the museum.<\/p>\n<p>The use of <a href=\"https:\/\/danaepanchaud.net\/index.php\/research\/critical-reenactment\/\">reenactment in activism and memorialisation processes<\/a>, as a way to engage with an audience who did not live through the events, and to reframe and reclaim history.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/danaepanchaud.net\/index.php\/research\/genocide-portraits\/\">circulation of portraits of genocide victims<\/a> and their reframing as they migrate from bureaucracy to remembrance.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Here are overviews of areas of research I am currently working on, most of which were initiated during my MA at Birkbeck.
