2019 | Photoforum Pasquart, Biel<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sillages<\/em> presents the work of five photographers who create unexpected links between the fields of perfume and photography. They highlight common, but often surprising, facets between photography and fragrance, or visually interpret and magnify certain characteristics of perfumery. For example, they explore the strong ties between memory and perfume as well as between memory and photography, research the molecules that give life to fragrances or analog photographs, consider smells and images as imprints and vestiges of an organism, or explore in a subtle way the notions of artificiality and naturalness, imitation of nature and representation. Their strong and unique visual universes offer fascinating visual interpretations of perfumery, a field whose creations remain generally invisible to the naked eye.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This exhibition is the first of its kind: it addresses certain \ncommon, but little explored, facets between visual and olfactory \nphenomena, using singular and original, and conceptually precise, \napproaches. The works presented, the result of extensive research by the\n artists, are mostly unpublished and produced for the exhibition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

L\u2019exposition Sillages<\/em> pr\u00e9sente les travaux de cinq photographes cr\u00e9ant des liens entre parfum et photographie. Ils mettent en lumi\u00e8re des facettes communes, mais souvent inattendues, entre photographie et fragrance, ou interpr\u00e8tent visuellement et magnifient certaines facettes de la parfumerie. Ils explorent par exemple les liens forts entre m\u00e9moire et parfum comme entre m\u00e9moire et photographie, s\u2019int\u00e9ressent aux mol\u00e9cules qui donnent vie aux fragrances ou images argentiques, consid\u00e8rent les odeurs et les photographies comme autant d\u2019empreintes et de vestiges d\u2019un organisme, ou encore explorent de mani\u00e8re subtile les notions d\u2019artificialit\u00e9 et de naturel, d\u2019imitation de la nature et de repr\u00e9sentation. Leurs univers forts et singuliers offrent des interpr\u00e9tations visuelles fascinantes de la parfumerie, domaine dont les cr\u00e9ations restent g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement invisibles \u00e0 l\u2019\u0153il nu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cette exposition est la premi\u00e8re de son genre: elle aborde certaines facettes communes, mais tr\u00e8s peu explor\u00e9es, entre certains ph\u00e9nom\u00e8nes visuels et olfactifs, et ce par des approches singuli\u00e8res et originales, conceptuellement pr\u00e9cises et abordant la th\u00e9matique par des angles multiples. Les \u0153uvres pr\u00e9sent\u00e9es, fruits de recherches approfondies des artistes, sont en large majorit\u00e9 in\u00e9dites et produites pour l\u2019exposition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
