2019, Photoforum Pasquart, Biel<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Prix Photoforum 2018 was awarded this year to photographer Sol\u00e8ne G\u00fcn<\/strong> (*1996) for her project Turun\u00e7<\/em>. Turun\u00e7 (Bitter Orange)<\/em>\n is an immersion in the daily life of young men from a Turkish immigrant\n background, in the suburbs of Berlin and Paris where the photographer \nherself lived part of her childhood. Starting from the observation that \nthese places and those who live there are often stigmatized and \ndenigrated, Sol\u00e8ne G\u00fcn explores their daily lives, and their universe \nmarked by the tension between the desire to hide and the need to show \noneself. The jury was convinced by Sol\u00e8ne G\u00fcn\u2019s strong and unique \nphotographic writing, and the subtlety and complexity of her approach to\n a subject generally marked by violent stereotypical representations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le Prix Photoforum 2018 a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9cern\u00e9 cette ann\u00e9e \u00e0 la photographe Sol\u00e8ne G\u00fcn<\/strong> (*1996) pour son projet Turun\u00e7<\/em><\/strong>. Turun\u00e7 (Bitter Orange)<\/em> est une immersion dans le quotidien de jeunes hommes issus de l\u2019immigration turque, dans les banlieues berlinoises et parisiennes o\u00f9 la photographe a elle-m\u00eame v\u00e9cu une partie de son enfance. Partant du constat que ces lieux et ceux qui y vivent sont souvent stigmatis\u00e9s et d\u00e9nigr\u00e9s, Sol\u00e8ne G\u00fcn explore leur quotidien, et leur univers marqu\u00e9 par la tension entre d\u00e9sir de se cacher et besoin de se montrer. Le jury a \u00e9t\u00e9 convaincu par l\u2019\u00e9criture photographique forte et singuli\u00e8re de Sol\u00e8ne G\u00fcn, et la subtilit\u00e9 et complexit\u00e9 de son approche d\u2019un sujet g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement marqu\u00e9 par des repr\u00e9sentations violemment st\u00e9r\u00e9otyp\u00e9es.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
