Leurs repr\u00e9sentations par l\u2019image sont autant d\u2019interm\u00e9diaires entre eux et le spectateur, parfois suppl\u00e9es par un personnage \u00e0 l\u2019existence toute aussi pr\u00e9caire, tel que le<em> fantographe<\/em>, figure fantomaticophotographique s\u2019interposant entre l\u2019auteur et les images [\u2026].&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les<em> Images du futurs<\/em> sont avant tout un syst\u00e8me des objets. La logique intrins\u00e8que de celui-ci est \u00e0 la fois perceptible et ind\u00e9chiffrable. [\u2026] Mais en refusant un sens trop arr\u00eat\u00e9, ils deviennent autosuffisants, ils se lib\u00e8rent de toute narration impos\u00e9e. Ils n\u2019illustrent pas. Ils ne prouvent rien. Ils existent, simplement. Et l\u2019attention du spectateur, peu \u00e0 peu, ne se focalise plus que sur leurs qualit\u00e9s physiques, leur mat\u00e9rialit\u00e9 si pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment d\u00e9crite, leur part donn\u00e9e. [\u2026]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les <em>Images du futur<\/em> nous offrent ainsi une immersion dans un univers qui se r\u00e9v\u00e8le et se refuse simultan\u00e9ment. Le photographe joue de cette double dynamique pour capter l\u2019attention du spectateur, la retenir dans une recherche de sens faisant \u00e9cho \u00e0 la fascination qu\u2019il ressent lui-m\u00eame pour ces objets, et qui laisse peu \u00e0 peu la place \u00e0 la contemplation. L\u2019image occupe une place singuli\u00e8re dans ce qui est en premier lieu une collection d\u2019objets\u00a0: la photographie est leur interm\u00e9diaire, elle les fait appara\u00eetre et les conserve. Elle atteste de leur existence en la construisant, sans pourtant en donner les clefs de lecture.
