A selection of 14 contemporary fragrances related to animality, eroticism and fetishism for the design and contemporary art exhibition Nirvana. Strange Forms of Pleasure<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Nirvana<\/em> is Switzerland\u2019s first international-level exhibition to be devoted to forms of pleasure in contemporary creation, exploring design as well as fashion, contemporary art and perfume, and the first comprehensive study of the influence of erotica on design and fashion. By turns bold, luxurious and mysterious, the exhibition presents works by around eighty artists and designers who draw on the iconography of pleasure in their creative work, nding inspiration in erotic and fetishist literature, along with the images, objects and clothing to which they frequently refer.<\/p>\n

The exhibition invites us to examine our own ideas and perceptions of pleasure. It forces us to observe how its forms of expression can cross the line from the private to the public sphere when they are the subject of fashion, design or art. The exhibition aims to examine our relationship with the forms and objects that give physical expression to our unconscious perceptions of sexuality and our private notions of pleasure.<\/p>\n

Celebrated and up-and-coming designers alike bring these multiple in uences into the spotlight, placing in the public sphere what has hitherto remained private. All these designers force us to question our value judgements on erotic practices by presenting unexpectedly luxurious items, worked to the highest standards of craftsmanship in leather, glass and precious metals.<\/p>\n

Nirvana<\/em> est la premi\u00e8re enqu\u00eate approfondie sur l\u2019influence des formes du plaisir dans le design, la mode ou encore l\u2019art contemporain. Audacieuse, luxueuse et myst\u00e9rieuse, elle pr\u00e9sente quatre-vingts cr\u00e9ateurs contemporains utilisant dans leur travail une iconographie li\u00e9e au plaisir, s\u2019inspirant aussi bien de la litt\u00e9rature \u00e9rotique et f\u00e9tichiste que des images, objets ou v\u00eatements concomitants auxquels ils font fr\u00e9quemment r\u00e9f\u00e9rence.<\/span><\/p>\n

L\u2019exposition nous renvoie \u00e0 notre propre conception et perception du plaisir et permet notamment d\u2019observer comment les formes intimes sont d\u00e9voil\u00e9es lorsqu\u2019il est question de mode, de design ou d\u2019art. L\u2019objectif est d\u2019exprimer notre relation aux formes et aux objets li\u00e9s au regard que nous portons sur la sexualit\u00e9 et la notion de plaisir. Des cr\u00e9ateurs c\u00e9l\u00e8bres ou \u00e0 la r\u00e9putation grandissante questionnent ou mettent en sc\u00e8ne ces influences multiples en introduisant dans le champ du public ce qui, jusqu\u2019alors, \u00e9tait confin\u00e9 \u00e0 la sph\u00e8re priv\u00e9e.<\/span><\/p>\n
